Sri Krishna Janmashtami Children Cultural Fest

A. Bhagavad-Gita Sloka Chanting
The time-tested treatise that helps a human to lead a life in the best way. We are pleased to
invite participants to chant a few verses from the song of God!
e) This contest is open for participants of the age group of 3 to 12 years.
f) The participants will be called out onto the stage, by their token number (given at the help
desk) .
g) The participant should mention his/her name and his/her parent’s name before chanting
the Shloka.
h) Participants can chant 2 to 3 Shlokas from any chapter of the Bhagavad Gita
i) For translations please refer to Bhagavad Gita As It Is by Srila Prabhupada. Website

j) The duration of time allowed for each child is 3 minutes. The language of translation can
be Telugu, Hindi, or English
k) Assessment criteria: Clarity in pronunciation, fluency, meter, translation (if applicable),
& and completion.
B. Storytelling
It is as sweet as honey when one narrates the pastimes of the Lord. Provide this sweet pleasure
to all your listeners and to THE ULTIMATE LISTENER!
a) This contest is open for participants of the age group 3 to 12 years.
b) The participants will be called out onto the stage, by their token number (given at the help
desk).
c) The participant should mention his/her name before narrating the story.
d) The participants can narrate any story connecting to festivals in India
e) The duration of time allowed for each child is 3 minutes.
f) The language of narration can be in Telugu, Hindi, or English.
g) Assessment criteria: Voice modulation, clarity in content, and Overall impact.
C. Singing
Singing for Lord Krishna is a form of devotional worship that expresses love and gratitude to
the supreme God. Sing for Lord Hari that can bring joy, peace, and bliss to the heart and mind
of the singer and the listeners.
a) This contest is open to participants of the age group 3 to 12 years.
b) The participants will be called out onto the stage, by their token number (given at the help
desk).
c) The participant should mention his/her name before Singing.
d) The participants can sing any authentic devotional song composed by renowned poets,
Devotees, and Singers.
e) The duration of time allowed for each child is 3 minutes.
f) The Language of the song could be Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, or Kannada.
g) Assessment criteria: Clarity in Singing, vocal rules, Stage Presence, and Audience
Impact.
D. Puranic Costumes
Puranic costumes are the traditional clothing worn by the people of ancient India, as depicted in
the Puranas, the Mahabharata, the Ramayana, and other ancient texts. Dress up your little ones
as Krishna, Radha, Rama, Sita, Hanuman etc or any character from our Puranas and the little
ones may speak a few lines about the Character or recite a Sloka.
a) This contest is open to the participants of the age group of 1 to 12 years.
b) The participants will be called out onto the stage, by their token number (given at the help
desk).
c) The participant should mention his/her name before Singing.
d) The Participant has to dress up in one of the authentic characters from the Puranas and
may speak a few lines about the Character or Recite a Sloka.
e) The duration of time allowed for each child is 1 minute.
f) Assessment criteria: Costumes, Confidence, Stage presence, clarity in storytelling or
sloka recitation (If opted for)
